Renting Facilities
The sanctuary of the old St. Elizabeth church can be rented for various activities. It's been used for many weddings, receptions, seminars, and other gatherings. It's not in a perfect state, being worked on in various stages, and at first we were surprised that folks would want to use old Elizabeth as she is. But the comments we've had about the beauty of the windows, the flexibility of the seating, and the inspiration of a work in progress lead us to believe she's quite suitable for use, and renting the space allows us to raise funds to make improvements. All proceeds go into the Save Elizabeth Building Fund which are used for maintenance, upkeep, and improvements.
Because we don't have a janitorial staff, we ask that those using the building do the set-up for their event and the clean-up afterward. We ask for a $100 deposit in order to schedule an event and that will be returned if the building's left in good condition. Or we can use the $100 to pay someone looking for a bit of work to do the clean up.
Set-up before an event would include: • arranging chairs • setting up any tables needed • cleaning the bathrooms (typically already in decent condition) • shoveling any snow or ice
Clean-up after an event would include: • throwing away trash • putting trash bags outside in cans • putting chairs back the way they were found • taking down any tables that were set up • cleaning the bathrooms
If you schedule an event with us, we'll assign a building coordinator for your event and give you that person's contact information. They can then answer your questions, schedule a time for you to see the facility in advance if needed, and open and close the building for you.
The facility can be made available Monday through Saturday. We have a weekly Sunday morning service so it's not available before noon on Sunday.
Rates for renting the St. Elizabeth sanctuary are currently as follows: • weddings: $500 includes Friday rehearsal (plus decoration time on Friday) and Saturday wedding • other events: minimum of $300 per day. Would go up if more than 100 people will be in attendance...contact us for quote. • energy surcharge from Oct - April may apply. • we also ask for a $100 deposit to reserve the space, and to be returned following the event if the building's left in good condition • if you want to use our sound system, we'd ask that you consider hiring one of Vineyard Central's sound folks at $50 for wedding, $50 per day for other events.
