An early church tradition was to baptize new believers on Easter Sunday. As part of the VC Easter festival on April 4, we will be including a dedication and baptism service. This is open to families with new family members they wish to dedicate or baptize into the VC faith community, as well as to older kids and adults who are interested in being baptized as a step in their personal faith journey.

Please save the date for the Vineyard Central Women’s Retreat April 9-10, a celebration of resurrection in the Easter Season (with hopefully brighter days and warmer climate). The retreat will be held at the Convent on Lincoln (the Nixon’s home) and include a gathering with singing and desserts on Friday night; brunch, prayer time, an art activity, and dinner on Saturday. We are asking for a $20 donation to cover food and art costs (which will be prepared and organized by house churches). You are welcome to come to all, or only a portion. Rooms are also available in the convent for both Friday and Saturday night, at $25 a night– the full retreat option. - Prof. Dan La Botz Miami University of Ohio – will speak about the history of immigration.
- Don Sherman – Executive Director of Cincinnati Interfaith Workers Center (CIWC) – will speak specifically on worker’s rights issues here in Cincinnati.
- Voices from our community – real people speak about immigration issues from their perspective – come share your perspective.
The Mills House Church has decided to improve the kid’s room in the church building. They have already invested in curtains and will be putting more up soon. At this point, they are soliciting latex primer and any colorful latex housepaints that anyone can spare. If you’d like to donate, get in touch with Elizabeth.
The Vineyard Central community will be gathering this Sunday, Feb 7 at 10 am for worship, teaching, and a shared meal. Please bring a dish to contribute to the potluck. Joshua Hanauer will be teaching from the lectionary passage. Childcare will be provided for younger children (up to age 8.) Please join us!
